July 2015 — The third and final country of my Round the World trip. The South East Asian country I’ve been waiting ten years to visit. It did not let me down.
tuscany_cover Italy
July 2015 — Country #2 of my Round the World trip. Touring Tuscany with the entire family, and sipping lots of prosecco.
cuba_cover Cuba
July 2015 — First stop on my epic Round the World trip, and what a unique country it was. Castro, communism, cigars, more.
iceland Iceland and Greenland
August 2014 — Traveling north to a beautiful land featuring all of nature’s classical elements: fire, water, wind, and earth. And then slumming it in Greenland.
africa Africa
September 2013 — Traveling to the heart of Africa to go on a safari in Kenya and then experience the ultimate in relaxation on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar.
Japan and Korea
March 2013 — Visiting Tokyo, Kyoto, and Seoul…and one wild trip to the DMZ. This is highly atypical for me to delay putting photos up for so long, but sit tight.
Australia
October 2012 — Australia, my 7th and final continent to visit! This country surprised me with its cultural diversity and great food and drink. Diving the beautiful Great Barrier Reef wasn’t bad, either.
Antarctica
December 2011 — Departing from the bottom of South America to take an 11-day trip of a lifetime. Why did we visit our southernmost, coldest, and windiest continent? To hang out with penguins, of course.
South America 2011
December 2011 — Returning to South America to re-visit some cities and experience several new ones. We spent time here prior to going to Antarctica.
Indonesia
March 2011 — Welcome to the country of 17000 islands. Tropical weather, delicious food, and beautiful scenery in (and out of) the water made for a near perfect vacation.
Morocco
March 2010 — My first African country, where Africa meets Middle East meets France. I visited Fes and Marrakesh and took a short trip into the Sahara Desert. The country, scenic. The people, questionable.
grandcanyon Grand Canyon
November 2009 — Taking a short roadtrip through several cities in Arizona to reach the Grand Canyon. En route we ate a Big Unit, got caught in a snowstorm, saw the International Space Station, and observed an old suicide.
belize Belize
December 2008 — Visiting the very tropical and very small island of Caye Caulker in Belize, and spending lots of time in a palapa. Go slow!
aruba Aruba
November 2007 — Getting away from the misery of internship by going to Aruba with a friend from med school. One happy island!
pragbuda Prague and Budapest
May 2007 — Travelling to Central Europe to see Prague (Czech Republic) and Budapest (Hungary). We visited a few historic sites, but then spent the rest of our two weeks eating goulash and drinking beer.
southamerica South America
April 2007 — Visiting the southern hemisphere of the earth for the first time. Before this trip, I couldn’t point out on a map any country in South America; now I’ve been to three countries there (and probably still can’t point them out.)
iran2006 Iran, again
December 2006 — Going to Iran, part 2. We return! This year, however, was less touristy and more mixing in with the “locals”. We again spent most of our time in Tehran, but also took two quick trips, one to the mountains and one to a holy city.
iran Iran
December 2005 — After a lifetime of waiting, I take a trip to the motherland. Half family-seeing and half sight-seeing. We stayed with family in Tehran, and visited historic sites in Shiraz and Isfahan. Come learn a thing about the “Axis of Evil”.
hawaii2005 Hawaii
June 2005 — Boards are finally over, and it’s time to take a trip somewhere for relaxing and serious sunshine. It’s amazing what 2 months indoors will do to your skin color. Honolulu provided tons of sunlight and lots of time under water.
india India
July 2004 — Travelling halfway around the world to visit the land of the Indian people and eat Indian food (there, they just call it “food”). Our itinerary took us to Bombay, and then north to several cities in the state of Rajasthan. Come look at a completely different world.
Thailand and Cambodia
June 2004 — After years of waiting, I finally made it out to Thailand for the best snorkeling and tanning as well as lots of EuroCup. We visited Bangkok, Chiang Mai (north), and several islands (south), and also stopped by Cambodia.
